January at Island Healthcare: Birthdays, music and plenty going on
January can often feel like a quieter month, but across Island Healthcare there has still been plenty happening. From birthday celebrations to live music and busy activity programmes, the year has got off to a warm and positive start across our homes.
Here are a few January highlights.
Westview House
At Westview House, resident Val celebrated her birthday this month. The occasion was marked with a lovely celebration and a cake that certainly didn’t go unnoticed.
These small moments matter, and it was nice to see Val enjoying her special day with those around her.
Highfield House
Highfield House enjoyed an afternoon of live entertainment with saxophone music, which soon led to some dancing. Live music always brings a different energy, and it was a great way for residents to spend time together and enjoy the moment.
Northbrooke House
January has been a busy and varied month at Northbrooke House. Residents marked Burns Night with a visit from a Scottish dancing group, bringing a bit of tradition and plenty of movement into the home.
Alongside this, there was also a lively jungle-themed party, complete with games, mocktails, and a buffet to finish. The men’s club also headed out for a bowling trip, followed by burgers, drinks, and lots of laughter.
It has been good to see such a range of activities taking place and something for everyone to enjoy.
The Hub in Cowes
January also marked an important milestone for Island Healthcare, with the launch of The Hub in Cowes (our home care service).
The Hub supports people to live independently at home with personalised care, practical support, and familiar faces. It’s been great to see the service getting started and supporting people in the local community.
