As a Kitchen Assistant, you’ll help us make sure every meal is clean, safe and served with a smile.
You’ll work closely with the Chef and the care team in our care home. Some days you’ll help with food. Other days, you’ll be clearing up or chatting with residents. No experience needed — just a kind heart and a good work ethic.

What Your Day Could Look Like
You’ll work different days on a rota, including some weekends.
Each day, you’ll help out in the kitchen. You might prep food, wash up, or help serve meals.
Wash dishes and clean the kitchen
Help the chef prep breakfast or veg
Collect meal choices from residents
Help serve food to the right people
Keep food safety forms filled in
Cover shifts when other staff are off

Island Healthcare is a family-run business that has been providing high-quality care to residents of the Isle of Wight since 2003. We currently operate six care homes and a domiciliary care service, serving 160 people. Island Healthcare is passionate about our residents and put them at the heart of everything we do. Island Healthcare's Hub initiative provides bespoke domiciliary care services and supports the health and well-being of local people. We also provide a daycare service from their homes, providing social activity as well as opportunities to visit the hairdresser, or chiropodist, or take a bath or shower.
